JGM was awarded this project based on its expertise in fast-track renovation projects. We had recently worked with Shield’s Construction on a building directly across the street with a similar scope. The challenges on this project were the tight schedule and an incomplete design. We immediately sent our detailing and survey team to the site over the weekend to gather the necessary field dimensions. We designed connections that provided the most flexibility in the field to deal with any unforeseen conditions. Next, JGM worked with Shield’s to develop a comprehensive priority schedule. This entailed identifying areas that had the most work, which needed to be completed after the structural improvements were finished. The logistics of coordinating all the trades was the most crucial aspect in order to complete this project on time and safely. JGM provided three cranes to assist in setting the all of the steel in many different areas simultaneously. Our crews worked seven-days-a-week for three weeks straight to ensure that the tenant would be able to move in on the promised date.
