Client: Preferred Sands
Project: Provide all steel, girts, siding and two industrial hoppers for a turnkey dump station project
Services provided: Fabrication, erection, detailing, engineering, industrial fabrication, and rigging services
Industry: Mining
Project turnaround: 60 days
JGM provided detailing, fabrication, and installation of 25 tons of structural steel, girts, siding and roofing for a new dump station building. This dump station sat over top of two large open-top hoppers fabricated in our West Chester, Pa. fabrication facility. The original design called for both hoppers to be completely penetration seam-welded in the field. After careful route planning to the Arizona site, we worked with the engineering team to develop a new design that enabled us to fabricate both hoppers in one piece and ship it directly to the job site. A two-week field erection project was now a two-day rigging project! With this “outside-of-the-box” thinking, we were able to improve the overall project schedule by two weeks.
Testimonial:
“Joe and JGM have been doing work for Preferred for years. JGM always brings a ‘jump through hoops for the client’ mentality that has kept them as our ‘go-to’ fabricator, rigger, and millwright. Small enough to be nimble to meet our aggressive time frames, but professional enough to complete our projects on time, within our budget requirements, and most importantly safely.”
