The Norwood Company contacted JGM to seek help in the demolition and replacement of the existing metal roof decking on its GMAC office building. This project started out with an initial order of 5,000 sq. ft. and grew to over 100,000 sq. ft. JGM coordinated the purchase of the metal through many different suppliers in order to meet the schedule demands. Typically, 100,000 sq. ft. of roof decking can take up to three weeks to procure and deliver to the job site. The building owner and the construction manager didn’t anticipate this unforeseen condition and needed JGM to do whatever it took to install it quickly and safely. JGM cut this lead-time down by ordering stock lengths and dispatching our own trucks in the middle of the night to pick up and deliver the deck the following morning. Once the new roof was installed, they were able to schedule and coordinate all other trades to start with the tenant fit-out. GMAC was able to move in as scheduled.
